Two Six-Hour Sessions
In the first session of our foundational course, Begin Where You Are, participants will learn about the U.S. history of trans individuals and the psychological industry, and explore, unpack, and define the Institution of Gender as it relates to both trans individuals and participants' identities through multiple interactive exercises, games, and activities.
In the second session participants will engage further experiential exercises games, and conversation to deepen their understanding and connection to their own identities, learn how to identify the various biases and oppressions faced by trans and non-binary individuals, and develop and explore specific actions to create a trans affirming and inclusive practice.

At the end of Session 2 participants will be able to...
Trans Culture Beyond the U.S.
In this course we explore and discuss how colonization and the system of sex and gender played a role in the development of present day trans cultures and identities.
In the first half of this course participants will work in small groups to develop a 10 min presentation about a trans culture not based in the U.S.. Participants will receive resources and guidance during the first two hours while developing their presentation.
In the second half of the course participants will present their learning and as a large group, we will explore decolonization and the systems of sex & gender as it relates to the cultures engaged during the course.
At the end of the workshop participants will discuss and determine how to turn privilege into change within these contexts.
At the end of this course participants will be able to..
Action Plan Development
In this 6 CE Credit course participants will engage with a guided process to develop an Action Plan for working with and building a trans affirming and inclusive practice.
Action Plans are designed with a three-six month implementation timeline. This course will build directly from Begin Where You Are and Trans Culture Beyond the U.S.
At the end of this course participants will have a realistic and sustainable Action Plan for moving forward with creating and building a trans affirmative and inclusive practice.

Full 20 Credit Course
The Full 20 Credit Course combines all three courses into one.
This Full 20 Credit Course invites participants to expand their understanding of Trans & Nonbinary identities and develop skills for creating and sustaining a trans affirming and inclusive practice.
Following the Transformative Solidarity Framework, each exercise within the workshop is designed to engage participants in critical thinking regarding their own identity, in relation to trans and nonbinary individuals, through the lens of deconstructing privilege.

10 Week Course Overview
While this video is about the 10-week course design, the topics covered are the same.
This is a short overview of the Continuing Education Course for Mental Health Service Providers Working With Trans and Nonbinary Clients.
Video Description: Kyle is standing in front of a blue wall. They are a light-skinned person of color. They are wearing black framed glasses and they have a goatee. They are wearing earrings in both ears, one is a rainbow set of safety pins, the other is a small blue zipper, and the third is a long silver design. They are wearing a blue button up shirt with small white penguins and underneath they are wearing a light pink t-shirt. Throughout the video text appears to the left of Kyle and is the same as what is being spoken.
Course Inspiration
This is the story of why this CE course was created. It is a personal account of experiences with different therapists on the journey to obtain hormone-replacement therapy as a trans person.
Video Description: Kyle is sitting in front of a white wall. They are visible from mid-chest up. They have curly brown hair that rests just above their shoulders. They are wearing classes with black frames. They have a goatee and are wear a salmon colored hoodie and black shirt underneath. Kyles nails are painted purple. They are speaking to the camera and sometimes they rest their arm on their knee, which is off frame, or gesticulate as they speak.

Please note: All workshops include discussions of and challenges to racism. We believe no matter the topic of injustice, without including and addressing racism we will inevitably perpetuate the very systems and oppressions we are trying to shift.
These workshops are for those interested in learning a different way to address privilege and create systemic change.
We currently offer TPIC workshops on anti-racism and trans and nonbinary active-allyship.
Our CE Courses are available for licensed mental health service providers in California working with trans and nonbinary clients.

Our Transformative Solidarity Long-Term Programs are designed with sustainability at their core. Each program is customized based on the needs of your organization, company, or group.
We want you to feel empowered and able to continue the work long after our time together.
